USC will face Colorado State in Phoenix before Christmas of 2022

Andy Enfield and the USC Trojan basketball team continue to add talented opponents to their upcoming schedule.

After a successful season — albeit one that ended in a first-round NCAA Tournament exit at the hands of the Miami Hurricanes — the Trojans are bringing back Drew Peterson and Boogie Ellis and are expected to be contenders once again in the Pac-12.

The Trojans will have another strong nonconference slate. According to Kevin Sweeney of Sports Illustrated, USC and Colorado State have agreed on a game at a neutral court.

Both the Rams and Trojans made the NCAA Tournament this past March, and the Rams are expected to be one of the contenders in the Mountain West Conference.

The game is set to be played in Phoenix, and there is a chance that this could be a top-25 matchup by the time December 21 rolls around.

The Rams finished 25-6 and 14-4 in the MWC before watching their season end in a loss to the Michigan Wolverines.

The Rams got Isaiah Stevens to return, although losing David Roddy to the NBA is a massive loss for Colorado State.

This is a terrific matchup for both programs and gives both sides a perfect opportunity to get an early signature win on their resume before moving into their respective conference slates.
